Project Overview

The DIVE project responds to the growing need for integrated STEM education, as highlighted by the European Commission Joint Research Centre report on future skills. It focuses on developing creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving through interdisciplinary, real-world learning that also incorporates arts and humanities. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the project promotes inclusive, equitable, and environmentally responsible education. Its main objective is to design and implement an engaging, adaptable STEM curriculum, supported by innovative teacher training, aiming to reach 4,000 students and empower educators across Europe.

Key Objectives

The project aims to transform STEM education by promoting social inclusion, empowering teachers, and improving student
engagement. It will:

– Foster inclusion of Refugee/Migrant/Minority youth through high-quality project-based learning

-Train and support multicultural teachers with innovative, interdisciplinary methodologies

– Enhance student performance by integrating STEM/STEAM approaches

– Develop and implement a tested curriculum on low-cost underwater robotics and marine science

Who Is It For?

DIVE targets secondary school students from refugee, migrant, and minority (RMM) backgrounds, as well as teachers working in multicultural classrooms. These students often face linguistic, social, and educational challenges that can lead to exclusion, while many teachers lack the training and tools to effectively support diverse learners. The project addresses these gaps by promoting inclusive, participatory learning approaches and equipping educators with practical strategies for multicultural education. By strengthening both student inclusion and teacher capacity, DIVE aims to improve educational outcomes and foster more equitable learning environments across Europe, in line with guidance from organizations such as the European Commission and the UNHCR.
