In the framework of the CINEMATOMEDIA project funded by the EU, we kicked off our film & drama workshops with some fun! To build team chemistry from day one, we blended classic icebreakers and warm-ups with film-inspired twists — like sharing favorite directors during introductions or playing “fruit salad” with movie heroes instead of fruits.
Our Methodology:
Our core approach combined drama education with film, using case studies like Close by Lukas Dhont and the series Atlanta. We also integrated creative methods shared by our partners, giving participants a taste of various approaches.
Workshop Highlights:
We explored key areas of filmmaking — screenwriting, directing, photography, and editing — through hands-on, interactive workshops:
Participants wrote scenes using 3 prompt words within the 3-act structure.
Teams directed, shot, and edited the same scene, then compared their creative results.
Film photography was explored through individual exercises, including some optional homework.
Each session balanced theory, practice, facilitation, and in-depth feedback.
Wrapping it up:
We concluded with a collective reflection on the role of art in democracy — as both spectators and creators. Throughout the drama sessions, we focused on the deeper themes within the films we worked with.
A meaningful and creative journey indeed!
